Here’s a Max5 patch for generating 1d cellular automata. It doesn’t make any noise, but it generates interesting visual patterns, and the output can be taken from the object and used for control purposes. It requires Peter Elsea’s Lobjects set of externals, which people should make sure they have anyway cos they’re good.
